Accelerating

I shall blog about today's maths class. This boy named Johnathan (sp!) from 107 acclerated all his year one modules and joined us. And that makes me wonder why i don't choose to acclerate. In other words, why didn't i bother taking the test? That weird boy (as Cheryl calls him) gave me some reasons. And here they are:

1) If you can acclerate, you should stay in the class and get A+ to pull your CAP up, unless you're a genius. Krystal has been saying that the difference in CAP is 0.05, and it doesn't matter, but to some not so clever people like me, 0.05 matters a lot.

2) If you acclerate, you can't be with your classmates, and will have to be with a class a year older than you. Which is to say, of course, unless if you're a year older than your class. (:

3) If you don't acclerate, you can don't struggle with that module, and you can spend your time studying other modules like bio or physics.

4) If you acclerate, you will be put into the best classes of the next year, and it could be hard to keep up their pace.

5) Your workload might be too heavy after accleration. In year one, you have 2 maths modules per semester. But accleration gives you three modules per semester. Year 1 is still okay, i think, but when you get to higher levels, it'll be more difficult to cope.

6) In the 'acclerated class', you'll be ostracised, like that Johnathan guy in our class. I know you're smart, but we're just not used to your presence. And knowing the boys in our class, you might be left out for a long long time, unless they're forced to integrate you.

Those are the reasons why i didn't even bother taking the accleration test. Yea. Why bother?
