Gosh, I really am over the moon! Because my speech's over! And what's more, i think my speech is very very good! Sorry about all the egoism here, but i am really proud of myself. And this speech is a far cry from what i did in year 2. Then, the speech was really simple, just stating facts in the scientific way in order to persuade the audience. Obviously, using juxtaposition, repetition and emotive language will do the job for you, much easier.
Okays, i went slightly over time, because Weijin raised the 'Extra Time' sign. And it was really hilarious with all their posters with the halves and more. Ka-shing's speech on Backgammon was hilarious in the way that he was trying to be serious, but he kept on presenting his points in a style of a speech when Ms Cheng asked him questions. Terry's speech was really pure laughter, and so was his question-and-answer. "Ms Cheng, i learnt from you, when you talk about foreign workers, you talk about Bangaladesh road cleaners" " When people say something bad about me, i feel bad." Oh man, funny. Dylan's was funny too, with his little imitation of Ris Low and her Boomz, steeel; i liked the way he said beginnie instead of beginning.
Well, i do have to thank my lovely sister for coaching me on my speech on my birthday, and Hilary Clinton and her speech, which i modified after.
There was council elections today, and i think that all five candidates are equally as good! It was super difficult to make a decision as to who would lead the council next year. I'm not going to reveal my vote; its private and confidential! :P Anyways, for whoever leads the council next year, i hope that they do live up to their campaign speeches; Jiaqing must redo the council, Bernard must make an all-for-one, Xinyi must make a Students Council, Ragav must make our voices heard, and what's Pan's cause, he didn't make it clear! I can still remember the first council elections in the school where we voted for who enters council, not our president. I still remember all those long campaign speeches that were filled with promises, and i know that none came through. I can say this for sure, because at that time, it was a dream to enter the council, so i was especially intrigued and in awe at those standing on stage publicising their cause.
