While the rest of the school is receiving their semestral exam results (which they dread doing), i'm stuck in the hospital doing weird things. NUH used to be a liberation from Singapore Baby and Child, where there was no longer any bossy nurses or doctors or crying babies, and there is a food court here just next to the clinic, along with shops like gift shops and book shops.
Today everything changed.
First i hooked up to the HOTA, the 24 hour ECG machine. Why didn't they tell me that they would give me this smaller machine so i can go to school to collect my results?! The older machine was much more bulkier and heavier so it defeats its purpose, such that it would be too restrictive to do anything, when the purpose is to monitor your daily activities.
In a way, it was good that i couldn't go to school, because we had an appointment with Dr Cindy. The appointment was timely too, because for the past week i've been getting headaches and feeling faint quite often. So we did a heart scan. Apparently there are some fibrosis on my heart tissue, between the two ventricles and that could be some cause for concern. So there. It just totally ruined my day. Because i have to go back for further tests by an MRI for a clearer picture, medication tests (meaning i have to stay overnight in the hospital) and i may have to undergo surgery for an AICD (automated implantable cardioverter-defibrillator)
