Art and life are interconnected. our ancestors invented forms of art to enrich their lives. Art imitates life in its realism portrayed in movies, such as the way people react in a situation and the social norms depicted in pictures. Often, art forms like visual arts, dance and music depict the artists' lives and feelings about certain situations. For example, the dream tone of Debussy's music illustrates his fantasies, the dance movements of The Rite of Spring imitate a tribal human sacrificial dance and impressionist painters pour forth their feelings by varying the colour, tone and texture of paintings. In fact, art imitates life more often than we can imagine.
Life, too, imitates art to the same extent. Some famous quotes we use can be attributed to the success of the movies. For example, "I'll be back" comes from the movie, Terminator, and has since gained popularity. Many aim for an extravagant lifestyle with lavish cars and butlers that are often seen in movies, showing the powerful influence art has on life. various idealogies portrayed in movies, painting, music and dance have been incorporated in life. For example, many young people dream of a wedding of the bride in a lovely, pure white gown walking down the aisle to the groom in a suit to the music of the Wedding March, because most marriages in art conveys that fantasy. Also, some fictional technological gadgets are slowly beginning to materialise in reality, such as spy gear and touch screen phones. Years ago, when The Incredibles was screened, the high-tech way of entering into Emma's house via face detection, voice detection and fingerprint detection was a new technology. Today, it is not uncommon to use one's fingerprint in place of a key into a house.
The relationship between art and life is a symbiotic one; both can do without each other but neither can flourish without the other.
